The sound of the flatboard kalimba will be richer than that of the box kalimba, but its volume is much lower than that of the box kalimba.” Based on this consideration, hluru engineers inlaid the flatboard kalimba design on a resonance box , so as to obtain greater volume and retain the rich tone of the plate-type kalimba. This design has obtained US and EU patents (US Patent No.: US D940230 S/EU Patent No.: 008311799-0007). In addition, hluru engineers also opened three sound holes on the left, right, and lower sides of the resonance box. When playing, you only need to control it with the palm of your hand to produce a beautiful and magical “wa” sound.
