Rapé is made from the ash of the bark of the Tsunu tree, also known as Pau Perreira. Tsunu is seen by the Shawandawa tribe as a male power and the power of the shaman. Tsunu rapé is good for summoning healing powers, evolving our spirit and connecting our spirit more deeply with matter. Rapé is made by Shawandawa Indian Zaquel Rosana, who is the daughter of the well-known Dona Francisquinha, whom we hold in high esteem, her path is pure and she is initiated into the making by her lineage.

The Ara or Shawãdawa were known as great warriors and hunters and were largely nomadic; they depended on the ability of hunters to establish links and connections with outsider groups. Most Arará, also known as Ukarãngmã (or ‘people of the red macaws’), reside in the Brazilian state of Pará.
